Primary care and chronic diseases

We offer a variety of primary care services including routine check-ups, preventative care and immunizations. 

We also help patients manage a variety chronic diseases including diabetes, anxiety/depression, hypertension, high cholesterol, asthma, heart disease and obesity.

Procedures

Our skilled physicians are experienced in many common outpatient procedures including vasectomies, IUD placement and removal, skin lesions and ingrown toenail removal.

With a referral from a doctor, we can also perform exercise treadmill tests, colonoscopies, endometrial biopsies and joint injections.

Sports medicine

We specialize in diagnosis and treatment of sports-related injuries and treat a variety of conditions and patients at all activity levels. In addition to injury treatment, the Sports Medicine clinic physicians are experts in nutrition and weight management, injury prevention and strength and endurance training.

John Snellings MD

John E. Snellings, MD

John Snellings, MD, serves as Chair of Family and Community Medicine and Associate Professor while providing primary care for residents of Hampton Roads. Dr. Snellings graduated from Norfolk Academy, then received undergraduate degrees in Biology and German Language & Literature from the University of Virginia. He then earned his Master’s in Biomedical Sciences and Medical Degree at EVMS where he completed a combined Family Medicine/Internal Medicine Residency.
