State-of-the-art women's healthcare

Eastern Virginia Medical School’s (EVMS) Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Division is the only Full-Scope MFM practice in the Hampton Roads area providing both outpatient and inpatient care to pregnant women and their unborn children in our communities. EVMS MFM consists of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary team of specialists who are dedicated to high-risk pregnancy management. Our team focuses on thoughtful, attentive approaches that incorporate evidence-based methodologies for addressing patient’s needs. We provide the options for consultation, co-management, or transfer of care for any patients, including medical management and surgical interventions.

Our program is led by board-certified Maternal Fetal Medicine Physicians, and is supported by advanced care practitioners, sonographers, genetic counselors and other clinical support staff that have been specifically trained in the treatment of high-risk pregnancy. 

EVMS MFM offers several specialty programs consistent with our comprehensive, evidence-based approach to high risk pregnancy management. Each program's goal is to minimize the risk of specific medical conditions that could affect the mother and/or baby during pregnancy

Prenatal Diagnosis and Genetics

This program provides a wide array of services, including counseling for preimplantation genetic diagnosis, amniocentesis, DNA and enzyme analysis, and umbilical cord stem cell collection.
